TONGANOXIE — Jayhawk-Linn wrestler Alan Johnson is already off to a strong start to the season, and he added a tournament title to his resume Saturday at the Randy Starcher Memorial Invitational. He won both of his matches in pool play by fall and then defeated a Rock Port wrestler by an 8-5 decision in the 215-pound championship to win the title. Johnson enters the Christmas break with a 14-1 record.Jarod Avery placed sixth at 140 pounds. David Troth (135) and Quincy Hodges each went 1-3 in pool play and placed fourth in their respective five-man pools. Trevor Laporte (125) and Tyler Jenkins (130) both went 0-3. Jayhawk-Linn returns to the mat Jan. 10 at Burlington for a tournament.
