Boys' basketball

Osawatomie forced the issue on the defensive end with its press, as the Jayhawk-Linn boys' basketball team committed 30 turnovers in a 64-31 road loss to the Trojans on Tuesday to open Pioneer League play.

Seth Jones scored 14 of his game-high 18 points in the first quarter. Jameson Greenwood scored eight of his nine points in the second quarter.

Girls' basketball

It appeared Osawatomie and Jayhawk-Linn was headed for another down-to-the-wire girls' basketball game Tuesday, but the Jayhawks' press defense started to pay off in the fourth quarter. Up 35-32 after the third quarter, Jayhawk-Linn used a 22-8 run in the fourth quarter to close out a 57-40 road win and keep its perfect record, now 7-0, intact.

Osawatomie committed 21 turnovers, compared to 13 for Jayhawk-Linn.

Four Jayhawks finished in double figures. Brittney Booe led the Trojans with 13 points.
