Edward and Darla Oulette of Rantoul announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Catherine (Katie) Oulette, to Jonathan (John) Underwood.

The bride-to-be’s grandparents are Don and Nellie Davis of Rantoul and Galen and Veronica Oulette of Princeton. She is self-employed as a home health care provider.

The groom-elect is the son of Perry and Josie Underwood of Osawatomie. His grandparents are the late Spencer and Harriette Underwood and the late Ross and Dreda Etter. He is a service manager for Martin Tractor in Lawrence.

An Oct. 3 wedding is planned at First Baptist Church in Ottawa.
