 James E. Eaker of Paola and Rhonda G. Eaker of Ottawa announce the engagement of their daughter, Candice Eaker, to David L’Ecuyer, both of Eudora. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Joanne Pritchard of Paola. She graduated from Paola High School in 2005 and then attended Allen County Community College in Iola. She works for Bucyrus Equipment Co. Inc. and is a full-time student at MTTI:Wellspring in Lawrence. The groom-elect is the son of Dan and Cheri L’Ecuyer of Lawrence. His grandparents are Cyrilla L’Ecuyer of Eudora and C.W. and Jane Ulry of Lawrence. He graduated from Free State High School in 2003 and is employed by Nine Mile Boring and Trenching in Shawnee. The couple will wed Sept. 19 in a walnut grove near Overbrook.
