Some Osawatomie residents will start seeing a different name on their telephone bills. Embarq, a primary local land-line phone provider in the area, has merged with CenturyTel to form CenturyLink. While the company already has been operating internally under the new name, customers shouldn’t see any obvious change until the end of the year. “We’re hoping to make any changes we make as easy as possible for our customers,” said Stephanie Meisse, media relations manager for CenturyLink. Meisse said there are no plans to change pricing or customer service procedures, and the merger will allow the company to offer more and improved services.
