Stephanie Newport, daughter of Randy and Chris Newport of Osawatomie, and Jonathan Holmes, son of Jim and Ruth Holmes of Roeland Park, were united in marriage at the First Christian Church of Osawatomie on July 17, 2009.

The Rev. Leslie King conducted the double-ring ceremony.

Music was provided by Joetta Moorman, organist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor-length halter gown with a beaded bodice and full, gathered satin skirt with train.
The bride’s sisters, Jillian Newport, Katie Newport and Tess Newport, served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Katie Holmes, sister of the groom; Erin Pennock, Brandi Bryan, Casey Wingerter and Ali Waggoner. They wore floor-length navy gowns of varying styles. The maids of honor carried bouquets of burnt-orange hydrangeas, and the bridesmaids’ bouquets were burnt-orange dahlias.

Sydney O’Brien, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Aiden O’Brien, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

Best men were the groom’s brothers, Ben Holmes, Bryan Holmes and Mike Holmes. Groomsmen were Jeff English, Bryan Ballweg, Jeffrey Suters, Tom Dercher and Tim Dercher.

Sean Foley and Blain DeCoursey, cousins of the groom, were ushers.
The bride’s cousin, Kelly Pennock, was the guest book and gift attendant.

A reception was held at the Grand Loft in Osawatomie.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Key West, Fla.

Mrs. Holmes is a graduate of Pittsburg State University. She is an activity specialist at Osawatomie State Hospital.

Her husband is a University of Missouri-Kansas City graduate. He works at Bishop Miege High School.
The couple makes their home in Gardner.
