1912-2009 Owene B. Lynch, 97, Osawatomie, died Oct. 20, 2009, at the Life Care Center in Osawatomie. She was born April 17, 1912, in Lone Wolf, Okla. She was the daughter of Homer and Lola McGuire Brown. She grew up and attended school in New Mexico. She was 16 years old when her mother died. She was united in marriage to Waldo William “Bill” Lynch on Jan. 24, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. They made their home in Hart Camp, Texas, and became the parents of one son. During World War II, they moved to Morenci, Ariz. In 1945, they moved to Albuquerque, N.M., and resided there until they moved to Osawatomie in December of 1988 to be near their son and his family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Osawatomie. She enjoyed sewing and had a natural talent for painting, making her a rather good artist. She was preceded in death by her husband who died Sept. 26, 2005; one brother, Lee Brown; and two sisters, Marie Pitman and Margaret Graham. She is survived by her son, Billy Lynch of Paola; brother, A. G. Brown of Williamsburg, N.M.; sister, Gladys Lockwood of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Graveside services were Saturday at the Osawatomie Cemetery. Arrangements are by Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home, 203 Main St., Osawatomie, KS 66064, (913) 755-2114. Memorials are to the Life Care Center in Osawatomie.
