LINN VALLEY — The Linn Valley City Council last week approved the purchase of an electroshock weapon for the Police Department.
Funds from Night Out Against Crime will be used to purchase the weapon.

Mayor Dick George asked about training and procedures for the product, and Burnett said training and policy and procedural information will be provided by the manufacturer, Taser International. The approval for Burnett to purchase the device included that its cost not exceed $1,200 and that a standard operating procedure be developed before the device is used by department personnel.
