A school bus carrying several Osawatomie students was involved in an accident last week. According to police reports, Debra Ratley was driving the 10-seat 2002 GMC bus south on First Street after stopping at a stop sign Nov. 10 when Jacqueline Banks’ 1991 Honda sedan, eastbound on Brown Avenue, hit the back-left side of the bus. Aiden Gould, 4, and Sahara Bell, 5, were the two students on the bus at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported. Gary French, Osawatomie USD 367 superintendent, said “it wasn’t much of an accident” and that he was glad all parties involved were unharmed. The bus is owned by Apple Bus Co., which still handles a small portion of the district’s student transportation needs.
