Brock Allyn Barber, 23, La Cygne, died Nov. 26, 2009. Services were Sunday, followed by cremation. The family suggests contributions to the Brock Barber Fund, c/o Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 304, La Cygne, KS 66040. On-line condolences for the family can be left at www.coffelschneider.com. Deborah Olson, 48, Paola, died Nov. 30, 2009, at home. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Carl Olson, and two sons, Richard and Jonathan. Services are pending through Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, (913) 294-2372. Gerald Thomas Kirchen, 79, Hays, Kan., formerly of Osawatomie, died Nov. 27, 2009, at Hays Medical Center, after a five-month struggle with multiple health issues. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Darlene; a daughter, a son, one brother, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Services were Tuesday. Arrangements were by Mosher-Kemp Family Funeral Home, 320 SW Second St., Plainville, KS 67663. Burial was in the Plainville Cemetery with military honors. Memorials are suggested to One Hope, helping to spread the Word of God to all the children of the world, in care of the funeral home. Tributes to the family may be made in the form of condolences left at www.mosher-kemp.com. Jerald Ray Simons, 72, Mound City, died Nov. 28, 2009. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, 319 Chestnut St., Mound City. Burial will be in the Curry Cemetery near Mound City. The family suggests contributions to the Lions’ Eye Bank or Harry Hynes Hospice, c/o Coffel-Schneider, P.O. Box J, Mound City, KS 66056.
