1942-2009 Larry Franklin Morgan, 67, La Cygne, died Dec. 21, 2009, at his home. He was born on Nov. 18, 1942, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Herman and Elenor Duncan Morgan. He worked in the construction industry as an operator and carpenter. He was a member of the Operator’s Union and the Carpenter’s Union. He married Marilyn Nelson on Nov. 20, 1970. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Morgan, on Aug. 7, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of the home; two sons, Russ Morgan of Mound City and Ty Aldridge of Olathe; two daughters, Jamie New and Deedra Smith, both of Ottawa; a sister, Sharon Akins of Lawrence; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. According to his wishes, Larry was cremated. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the family home, 21766 Taylor Rd., La Cygne.
