How we review
Graphic Online exists to help you find the independent businesses worth your money, and to give those businesses a fair, specific write-up.
Reviews and profiles
A review means we used the business ourselves and gave it a score. Aprofile is written only from the business's own website, before we've hired them. Profiles say so at the top, report what the business claims rather than what we saw, and don't get a score. When we visit, the profile becomes a full review.
The rules we keep for reviews
- We visit in person and pay full price, like any other customer.
- We don't announce ourselves, and we don't accept free products or services.
- Businesses can't pay to be listed or to have a review changed.
- If a business changes a lot, we go back and update the review with a new visit date.
What the score means
Every review gets one score out of 10. It weighs the quality of the work, the service, value for the price, and whether we'd recommend it to a friend.
| Score | What it means |
|---|---|
| 9–10 | Worth going out of your way for. |
| 7–8 | Very good. We would happily go back. |
| 5–6 | Fine, with real trade-offs. |
| 0–4 | We would not recommend it right now. |
