Snow causes early morning traffic jams in Flachgau

After a summer weekend, April shows its winter today: large snowdrops cause traffic disruptions, especially in Flachgau. The Lamprechtshausener Straße (B156) from Acharting to Bergheim and the Mattseer Landesstraße (L101) from Elixhausen are affected. There are also traffic jams on Obertrumer Straße from Seekirchen and the streets between Eugendorf and Hallwang. Snowfall is also seen in the Vestadopan (A1) area between Thalgau and Eugendorf.

The city of Salzburg was not spared either. Currently progress is very slow on all major roads in the state capital.

Partly heavy snowfall on Tuesday afternoon led to several rescue and fire service operations. Some vehicles left the road, for example on the Karavankenatopan (A11) or the Loiblpass federal road. Snow chains were required on nearly all high streets, and the police said even Wurchenpass Street (B109) had to be closed due to heavy snow.
