The verdict was handed down on Friday in a double-murder case in Graz: a 29-year-old Upper Austrian man was sentenced to life in prison for manslaughter and manslaughter.
The drama took place in Graz in April 2023: the 29-year-old Upper Austrian punched his girlfriend at the time. He met her in a brothel as a dominator. That day there was an argument out of jealousy. The situation worsened and the 29-year-old man took out a knife and stabbed his girlfriend several times.
When he first realized that he had actually killed his girlfriend, he wanted to take his own life. His plan: to drive the car into a wall in the Plabutch tunnel. But everything turned out differently; He was driving at a speed of 130 kmph when he collided with an oncoming car. But not on purpose, as he insisted in court, the injury meant he could no longer move his arm. The accident resulted in the death of the other driver.
The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to murdering his girlfriend. But the jury didn't see it: they decided it was murder. In the fatal accident, the jury convinced the defendants that there was no intent. In this case, he was negligently murdered. The Upper Austrian is sentenced to life imprisonment. The court also ordered to send him to forensic treatment center. The 29-year-old is said to suffer from mixed personality disorder with borderline elements and panic disorder. The court psychiatrist confirmed this. Judgment is not final.
