KAC – Fehervar 5:2 | KAC beat Fehervar in a great game to qualify for the premier class

Continually at the top since January 6, safe in the play-offs since January 28 and guaranteed home rights since February 2. Of course, an ice hockey season is determined only in the spring, when the presentation of the championship trophy approaches. Nevertheless, the Red Jackets have already accomplished much that few would have hoped for at the start of the season. The athletes crossed the next stop in an excellent journey so far with their own win against Fehervar. On the one hand, KAC qualified for the Champions Hockey League for the fifth time in the club's history, and on the other hand, one more point from the remaining three games is enough to win the regular season for the first time since 2011. This is followed by the first test for the quarter-finals and home use until the final. It was also the 800th win since the league's inception.

The Red Jackets continued against the Hungarians, where they left before the international break and once again turned the sold-out Klagenfurt arena into a frenzy for the 14th time this season. The visitors did not make it easy for KAC, however, and proved themselves competent in a hard-and-fast game that already gave off an intoxicating play-off aroma. Somewhat fortunately, they led Agos Mihaly after 140 seconds. Manuel Canal equalized 36 seconds after the start of the middle third.

KAC gritted its teeth on Roy for a long time

It took until the 34th minute for Jan Murczak to put KAC ahead for the first time on the power play as Balint Magosi (26th) scored again and Fehervar keeper Olivier Roy Schrove denied Klagenfurt on Tuesday. He equalized 2-2 with 75 seconds left. This added lightness to the KAC and slightly knocked the wind out of the opponent. In the final stage (45th) Nick Pietersen cleared everything up quickly. In the closing stages, Luca Kombok, who replaced the injured Nicky Krauss, capped an all-round successful evening.
